Unlike side pocket mandrels, these require tubing retrieval to replace valves, but they offer superior strength and simplicity for certain applications. Manufactured from forged alloy steel tubing with precision-machined valve pockets, conventional mandrels are API/ISO certified and validated for HPHT service. Applications include continuous and intermittent gas lift, standard production wells, and completions where tubing retrieval is acceptable for valve replacement. Each mandrel undergoes hydrostatic testing, machining inspections, and compatibility validation with standard valves.
